About the Role

Dropit is looking for a Senior Fashion Buyer to be responsible for planning, recommending, and selecting product ranges to the Dropit marketplace from our partnering brands. In this role, you will make recommendations based on eCommerce and retail considerations including product demand, price point, seasonality, and fashion trends. In addition, you will also be responsible for regularly monitoring performance and forecasting whether to replenish, promote or update particular items and categories.


About You

For success in this role, you must demonstrate passion and a professional understanding of fashion eCommerce in the US. You possess a deep understanding of the retail and fashion industry and can identify fashion and style trends. This role will require you to have a good eye for assembling fashion collections and categories and refresh these regularly based on performance, demand, and seasonality. We are looking for a self-starter who is ready to take on the challenge of owning and executing the style guide of Dropit’s marketplace.


What you will do

  • Lead and design Dropit’s first-of-its-kind marketplace fashion DNA including look and feel, collections, and product categories
  • Full responsibility for the buying strategy and direction across multiple retail and fashion categories
  • Curate the fashion apparel collection from our designated partner brands
  • Analyze consumer buying patterns, and forecast future trends based on popular culture, retail competitors, and general consumer behavior.
  • Assist and advise with marketing activities, including social media, to drive traffic to the site and share promotional content.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and proactively to changes in demand
  • Build strong relationships to ensure access to various showrooms.
  • Negotiate with new suppliers and maintain relationships with existing suppliers
  • Regularly review KPIs, such as sales and discount levels
  • Manage plans for stock levels across multiple locations



You’ll be great for this role if you

  • 5+ years experience in a fashion apparel buying role across multiple brands - A must!
  • 2+ years experience in fashion retail e-commerce.
  • Educational background in the following or similar: Fashion Design / Fashion Business / Fashion Retail - ideal
  • Deep understanding of vendor management, stock allocation, and price negotiation.
  • Excellent negotiation skills - including skills required to build and maintain excellent client relationships.
  • High level of commercial awareness
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and thrive under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills
