About the role

Dropit is looking for an Engineering Director to join a fast-growing company in a strategic management role and to help a passionate R&D department scale to the next level.
As an engineering director you will be in charge of our core backend stack w/ multiple autonomous dev squads.
You'll also mentor, coach, and advise the team members and other technical leads of how to achieve a fine product whilst keeping an healthy work-life balance.


  • Work closely with Product, Research, Design, and Data to build the foundation for our product offerings
  • Developing roadmaps & strategies that accelerate feature development for our backend squads
  • Lead a passionate, agile engineering team to deliver features and improvements to our backend stack that is high quality, scalable, and secure
  • Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement by serving as a coach, mentor, and technical advisor
  • Provide technical expertise throughout all phases of the development lifecycle to help drive the product roadmap
  • Meet with technical brands representatives to understand their requirements and facilitate a successful and stable partnership
  • Retain, hire and continuously grow top engineering talent teams
  • Proactively identify ways to continually improve the quality of our products and the efficiency of our team
  • Defining, tracking and reporting on key performance indicators to determine support effectiveness and efficiency


  • 6+ years of industry experience, of which 3+ years is in Engineering Management
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Broad understanding of various cloud development technologies and trends for enterprise-scale, distributed systems
  • Experience with ideation and innovating technology at scale, while motivating others to act by creating alignment.
  • A positive get it done attitude and the ability to effectively prioritize and advance multiple projects simultaneously
  • An entrepreneurial attitude and full understanding of what it takes to operate in a very dynamic, fast-paced and results oriented environment
  • Ability to recruit/develop technical team members and inspire/motivate an engineering team to work together as a cohesive and highly productive unit.
